Dog Grooming In Oak Harbor

The Paww Spa LLC was founded by Mary Edwards, a lifelong animal lover raised in Greenbank on Whidbey Island. Her passion for animal care began early through 4-H, working closely with her dog Charlie, and assisting her aunt at AKC dog shows while participating in Junior Handling.

Mary’s grooming journey took shape when she received a show-bred American Cocker Spaniel and began learning the craft through books, videos, and hands-on mentorship. She went on to groom at a kennel in Oak Harbor before moving into two veterinary offices, where she gained extensive experience in medical grooming and became a Certified Fear-Free Groomer. This veterinary-based background allows her to confidently work with anxious, sensitive, and special-needs pets.

After years in veterinary and salon settings, Mary launched her own business, starting with mobile grooming to provide one-on-one, low-stress care. As demand grew, she expanded into a small shop to offer the same personalized approach at a more accessible cost. Today, the shop is primarily run by her daughter Maryah and a small team of groomers, with cat-only grooming on Sundays led by an experienced feline groomer.
